ONE-TEN SOUTH SALON is located in the lower basement side level of the Godwin Building on South State street in the Borough of Newtown. Walk-ins are welcomed but an appointment is recommended. 215-968-7775

The owner of the past thirteen years gave us full control of the makeover in choosing colors, textures, signage and lighting. We chose bright and vibrant colors in metallic finishes for the work station wall and the two other walls comprising a rust metallic and a gold. Additionally installed "Focal Point" dental moulding at ceiling. The focal wall a faux finishes textured block wall really adds a safisticated look. The upper portion of the wall is 11" x 20" blocking with each block hand textured to be different form each other The lower portion is a solid slab of texture. The custom made signage is back lit and resides four inches from the surface. The back lit surface shows off the textured finish with an ambient glow surrounding it. A wall outlet and switch were installed for the sign lighting. New holgen track lighting was installed purposely to cascade over the textured blockwall. An additional track light was installed along the opposing wall and cascades light to the metallic surfaces even brightening the metallic surfaces more. All of the trim was painted with a mahogany red tinted oil polyurethane gloss. The ceiling was painted a vibrant bright flat white.

The bathroom was painted with a metallic finish ceiling and gold walls. The focal wall was painted with a marbled gold, white and rust metallic finish with gold and white veining. The custom made sign has a gold leaf frame with a mahogany finished aged border and a marbleized finish. The picture is hung from two invisible fishing lines approx. 6" from the wall, as if just hovering. Lighting replaced with bar holgen fixture providing a dramatic feel.

Sample Finishes

All of the following sample finishes are either sample boards for a job or a picture of an area of a wall or area. I am sometimes asked how do we do this, we buy these squares and you glue them up. Nope, I say, we create them from the colors of your room or just your favorite colors and blend them, bag them, stipple them, marbelize them to what ever look, feel, texture you want. Some of the samples or job pictures may not be what you want but it's a great place to start.

Some of the best finishes are the most suttle and also hard to take pictures of and show over the internet.

These samples are a great starting point as to where we can go. We can establish our color or colors. We can identify the texture we are trying to create for the large area or the specific detailed area. The samples can be combined or change the color to fit your area.

As with each artisan and their creations the samples and finishes have uniqueness within them. Uncharacteristic of contemporary wallpaper finishes, the finishes can be added to or changed in hue with color overlays, if and when you want a change in your decor or just a different look, quite inexpensively.
